Terms and Conditions

1. What onPoint is

onPoint is a platform where people can read and write authentic reviews of businesses, sellers, and service providers operating in Zimbabwe, and where those businesses can claim and respond to their own listings. Reviews are free to write and free to read. Businesses may not pay to remove, alter, or suppress a review, and paid features never affect a business's rating or which reviews appear.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. Each person may hold one account. Your display name is a public handle used to attribute your reviews and interactions (it is not required to be, and does not need to be, your real legal name). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Please inform us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Reviews

• A review must reflect your own genuine, first-hand experience with the business or seller you are reviewing. Reviews about experiences that did not happen, or written on someone else's behalf without a real basis, are not allowed.
• You may post one review per business or seller. The platform enforces this rule automatically.
• No one, including the business being reviewed, may pay or offer anything of value in exchange for a review, a rating, or a review's removal. This applies to reviewers and businesses equally.
• You can edit or delete your own review at any time directly from your account.
• A posted review stays visible by default. If another user reports it, it remains visible while under review (reporting alone does not remove content). We may remove a review, or mark it in a way that stops it counting toward a business's rating, if it violates these terms.
• Reviews may not contain false information, threats, harassment, hate speech, private personal information, inappropriate content, or anything illegal under Zimbabwean law.

4. Adding and claiming a listing

Anyone with an account can submit a business or seller that is not yet listed. Submissions are reviewed before going live, and being submitted does not guarantee immediate publication; we reserve the right to decline submissions at our discretion.

If you are the owner of, or authorized to represent, a listed business, you can request to claim it. Claims are verified manually and may require supporting documentation. A claimed listing allows you to access business features and respond publicly to reviews. Claiming a listing does not allow you to edit, remove, or suppress user reviews, nor does it alter your rating.

5. Reporting content

If you believe a review violates these terms, you can report it via the platform reporting options. Reporting submits the content for manual moderation review. We make the final determination on whether reported content violates our guidelines and should be removed.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

When you delete your account, your email address, display handle, and custom uploaded avatar are permanently deleted. You may sign up again at any time using the same Google account to create a fresh account. We do not collect or store your real legal name or personal phone number. Your posted reviews are retained on the platform but attributed anonymously to "Former user" to preserve community trust and historical business context. If you wish to remove your specific reviews, you may delete them individually prior to deleting your account.

7. Content ownership and licensing

You retain ownership of the reviews and content you create. By posting content on onPoint, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your content as part of the service, including after account deletion in the anonymized form described above.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Reviews represent the individual opinions of registered users and not statements of fact made by onPoint. While we verify user accounts, we do not independently guarantee the accuracy of review contents or business listing details. The service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, onPoint shall not be liable for decisions made based on reviews or listings, or for disputes between users and businesses listed on the platform.

10. Your data and privacy

We collect and process minimal account information (email address and chosen public handle) necessary to operate the service in accordance with Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07]. We deliberately do not collect your real legal name or personal phone number. For full details on how data is handled, please review our Privacy Policy.

11. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including accounts engaging in fake reviews, review manipulation, harassment, or fraudulent listing claims.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect platform improvements or legal requirements. Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised date. Continued use of onPoint after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
